Shelagh Casebourne is a figurative painter, with a studio in a Berkshire village on the River Thames.
After a career in publishing, she completed a Fine Art degree in 2010.
Her inspiration is taken from the natural world and from walking in the countryside.
A Landscape Artist of the Year 2020/21 finalist, she is equally happy painting plein air or in the studio.
Shelagh is a member (and Secretary) of the Reading Guild of Artists and exhibits regularly in the area. She also tutors workshops at a local arts centre.
The Derek Cooke website has been created by Surrey and Sussex Artists. If you are an artist in need of a website, please Contact Us.
"Dear Chris,
We are delighted with our art website. In addition to all the items we requested, you have added many artistic details that really enhanced the site.
We would also like to thank you for your patience, explaining and talking us through all the concepts we did not understand.
It has also been reassuring knowing that you are on the end of the phone ready to answer our queries as they arise.
It has been a pleasure working with you.
Best regards."
"This is the second website that Chris and Colette from Surrey Artists have designed for me and I am delighted with the result. They put in an amazing amount of work collating a large amount of detail to ensure my paintings are professionally displayed.
The finished website has already attracted a large number of serious enquiries some of which have been converted"

In between commissions, Carole paints landscapes, seascapes, and botanicals in either a contemporary or a realistic style. She also paints semi-abstract landscape impressions inspired by caves, woodlands and forests.
Carole exhibits her work independently, in galleries and within groups and holds an open studio via the Horsham Artists Art Trail every year.
In 2021, Carole was interviewed at her home by the BBC and later featured on BBC South Today, talking about her participation in the ‘Portraits for NHS Heroes’ scheme via Instagram, where she painted a free portrait of an NHS doctor.

Working mainly in acrylics, Glen seeks to capture atmosphere, mood and light in his paintings. His style is meticulously detailed and this is achieved through a combination of accurate drawing skills, followed by overpainting using pallet knife work and base colours to influence the layers above.

Some years ago, friends of mine were moving house, relocating north and wanting a lasting reminder of their old home in Mid-Sussex. I was very happy to be commissioned to paint these famous Sussex landmarks, locally known as Jack & Jill Windmills which overlook the village of Clayton and the Sussex Weald.
I opted to visit the site on the South Downs in the early spring with my camera on a bright clear day and set out to capture the exposed nature of the hillside, with its bare trees and flowering gorse bordering the fields. The resulting photos were then used as a basis for the painting which now takes pride of place in their home.
