Based on Japanese folklore, it is thought that the Kitsune was a mischievous, yet highly intelligent and curious creature which appeared in a number of forms and I find this highly relatable.

Based in East Sussex, Frankie is an alternative punk artist who draws inspiration from music, poetry and culture. Although early into her journey in the art world, her overall goal is to become a tattoo artist. Frankie uses art as a cathartic expression and shows the world through her imagination. Most of her artwork is pencil and pen work but she does also experiment with paints. Her aim is to create a space where humans who feel slightly different can take comfort and feel as though they aren't alone.
Frankie is autistic and hopes to speak up for the neurodivergent community through her expressive art which could hopefully make a change however large or small it may be.
Not currently a member of an East Sussex Art Group or Art Society.
With a galaxy theme, this was inspired by looking up at the stars and realising how vast the universe is. There is so much beyond what we notice day to day and in the universe, which is represented by the closed hands peering at a section of the stars.

I created this with my favourite animal in mind, the bat. This is a representation of a vampire bat and symbolises individuality and not being scared of the darkness and things we don’t understand.

This artwork is inspired by Edgar Allen Poe’s poem and how I reflected upon it to see the beauty in acceptance and how it can be difficult, but not impossible to escape from your mind when you find the right help.

This piece has been cast in bronze by the Talos Art Foundry. I usually start a new piece of work by bending a metal round bar in the workshop vice. Its a technique I have found that works well with my love of a natural curve. I created the first sculpture by playing with shapes in a basic armature. The shape was ‘found’ during working up the piece in clay. However my first attempt was much ‘squatter’ so I reworked the armature twice until I had a proportion that I found pleasing. If you are starting to follow my work you will notice that I pay little attention to accurate size for arms or legs etc. I like disproportion as it helps to achieve a flowing line that satisfies my eye. I use no reference material for any of my sculptures which can greatly increase the time for making any piece, but the end effect I feel is more honest and more ‘me’.
I oversaw the patination and the effect in the hand is very striking. Its 40 cms tall so is a substantial weighty bronze which will have a good amount of impact in any home. The bronze illustrated is no 1 of an edition of 9. Should you wish to place an order please allow 8-10 weeks for delivery, I am sure you will be thrilled with this sculpture.
