Acrylic Landscape Artist inspired by the Downs and the coastline
I am an architect and started trying to paint about 6 years ago when I moved to Brighton from London. I was very much inspired by the South Downs and the coastline around Brighton.
I use acrylics and have taught myself by trial and error. I am currently trying to teach myself to paint using watercolours.

I find painting portraits endlessly fascinating and particularly love painting people with interesting or unusual faces and expressions.
I am comfortable painting from good quality photographs. Photo quality, interesting levels of light and shade and the subject's expression all help to influence reference selection.
Whilst my preferred medium is oils, I do experiment with different techniques, from building up layers to a more alla prima approach, depending on the desired outcome, time and style preference.
