Jennifer Okafor, Maresfield, East Sussex Artist

I am a Russian-born multi-media artist based in East Sussex.

From an early age, I was exposed to art culture and studied fine art in musical school back in my home town in Russia at the age of 8 – 9, before moving to England.

Intuitively, I was always drawn to art and decided to take fine art in school at GSCE, passing with an A* grade to further my learning.  At this moment, I couldn’t find my voice in art and began exploring other mediums such as graphic design, clay making, photography and much more.

That period helped me form my understanding and relationship with art as a whole, creating confidence and voice, helping me use paint as my own language to speak to the inner and outer world.
